Times are changing, there are certain aspects in healthcare that can actually be computerized, and at the same time also to keep back up solutions for when something is not working or even when it comes to help people who are not user friendly with computer…but the most important thing is to never forget to care for the patient holistically and talk to patient face-to-face

80,000 patients a year are currently killed by medical errors with paper.. can you imagine if the airline industry had opposed computers? this is sad on so many levels

As an MS4, I can say that I am in love with EMR. I don’t have to guess what attendings write (or try to write) when they hand-write their noes. 2+ people can look at a chart at different places in the hospital. You can check up on your patient from home (not a substitute or an excuse to not see a patient face to face though). Also, the chances that charts (or sections them) getting lost are reduced. EMR are not perfect, but perfection is not accomplished in 1 day.
