    If you want to write narratives … get out of medicine and go be a romance novelist! Physicians don’t like EMRs because it forces them to do a complete and correct job of documentation, which they consider to be “beneath” them. They come from the old school of medicine, which has the whole universe revolving around them. EMRs are the path to improving the total patient experience, especially safety.

    Using a Tablet PC with an EMR is a great way to maintian patient contact while still having a digital chart. A lot of the drawbacks they list are problems with bad EMR systems, and not with Electronic Medical Records as a concept.
