Resolution agreements between HIPAA [Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act] covered entities and the Department of Health & Human Services’ (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) settling violations of the HIPAA Privac, and Security Rules netted over $3.8 million in penalties.
