The Florida House of Representatives passed its own limited health care bill that relies on state money to expand coverage to the state’s neediest residents. Also in the news, reports from Ohio, Montana, Texas, Nebraska and Arizona on the status of state decision-making regarding the expansion.

In Florida, the state hospital association is pressing for a cost-benefit analysis before lawmakers take a final vote on Medicaid expansion, and in Ohio, GOP lawmakers leave the door open for a move later this year.

MedeAnalytics, a leading provider of healthcare performance management solutions, announced today that the State of Mississippi Medicaid has selected MedeAnalytics’ Accountable Care Solution to empower the next generation of the state’s Medicaid Electronic Health Records System application.

The legislation would use the state’s Healthy Indiana Plan to add coverage for 400,000 low-income residents.

Mississippi House Democrats blocked passage of the state’s Medicaid budget Sunday to force a vote on expanding the program, while supporters and critics do battle in Missouri, Montana and Arkansas.
